Steve Clarke says Greg Stewart has exceeded expectations in the first half of his season-long loan spell with Killie.
The attacker has scored eight goals and added another two assists to his total for the season including a wonderful solo run in the 2-1 win over St Mirren.
Heading into the winter break the Killie boss was asked about the 28-year-old's contribution so far this term.
Clarke said: "I knew I was getting a talent when we got Greg but I think he’s surpassed himself. He’s been really good for us, we’ve found a good position for him and a good way to play which suits his game.
"It’s making Greg look good and it’s also helping us – it’s great for both parties."
Asked if he feared that parent club Birmingham City may want to recall the player for the second half of the English Championship season, Clarke added."Every single loan deal has a recall option in January. It’s up to Birmingham but they’ve shown no sign that they are going to ask Greg back.
"His contract is up at the end of the season so I’d imagine a lot of it will come down to what Greg wants to do and I know he’s very happy here."
