KCST team put their heart into Health Week

Our KCST team have been putting their heart into Health Week, delivering a variety of fun sessions to schools across East Ayrshire.

Our community team started at Onthank Primary to teach kids the benefits of staying hydrated with our H2O programme. After a 45-minute presentation the pupils were treated to a ‘Killie Kickers’ session, which promotes the basic ABC football fundamentals of Agility, Balance and Co-ordination.

The next stop was Fenwick Primary with our popular Hexagol facility – our interactive cage helps improve kids’ speed, passing, accuracy, control and co-ordination. Every pupil at the school was excited to try it out with fun games, matches and tournaments taking place.

Community Support Officer, Grant Moore said: “It’s great to be involved with Health Week and get out into the local community and spread the word about Killie and fitness in unison.

“Football is a great motivator for kids so being able to inspire them to lead healthier lifestyles when they are at primary school is a lesson that we hope they will value and stick with.”

Our coaches also visited Mount Carmel Primary, Darvel Primary, Glebe Primary and St Andrew’s Primary as the pupils experienced a full day of education and fun about the importance of healthy eating and exercise as well as trying our ‘Killie Kickers’ games.
