Kilmarnock Football Club would like to extend our congratulations to David Sneddon on his recent MBE.

Davie and his wife Rena, son David and daughter Kate travelled to Buckingham Palace recently to see him pick up the honour.

David has enjoyed a long association with Kilmarnock FC joining us from Preston North End in November 1961.

He was part of the Killie team which enjoyed a lot of success in the 1960s, playing 28 times in the League Championship winning season of 1964/65.

David became the Kilmarnock manager in 1977 and led the team to promotion in 1978/79, keeping them there the next season.

Sneddon left in January 1981 but returned once more to Rugby Park in 1990 as chief scout.

David is still involved with the club on match-days as part of the hospitality team.

David deservedly won his honour for his work with Kilmarnock Football Club and the local community.
