KILMARNOCK 2 v DUNDEE 4

Better finishing by the visitors saw Dundee win 4-2 in our last home League match on 20th September. Curran put Dundee ahead in the 19th minute following some slack defending, but five minutes later Lewis Morrison equalised with a good finish after being set up by a “one-two” with Flo Bojaj. Martin Smith had a great chance to put ahead after he was sent clear, but the keeper blocked his effort.
There was a triple substitution at half time, with Martin Smith, Lewis Morrison and Jordan Jones all being replaced. The changes seemed affect the Killie concentration, as within a minute Smyth had put Dundee ahead. A long range strike by Rory Loy in the 62nd minute put the visitors further ahead, but in the 74th minute we pulled a goal back, Scott McLean heading in a deep Jack Whittaker cross. With Killie pushing forward looking for an equaliser another long range shot, this time by Ian Smith, put Dundee further ahead in the last couple of minutes. Killie had made more than enough chances to take something from this match, but better finishing by the visitors was the key.
