Two members of Club staff and one of our sponsors will be taking part in a charity run this coming Sunday (28th May).
Kilmarnock Fitness Centre gym manager Les Bryden, groundsman David ‘Yeti’ Moody and local businessman and sponsor Stuart McCallum, will be taking part in this weekend’s Edinburgh Half Marathon.
Les and Stuart will be running in aid of SAMH (Scottish Association of Mental Health) and Yorkhill Sick Children’s Hospital, with funds raised being split between both charities. David, who is a well known face around Rugby Park, will be running in aid of Parkinson's UK and Beatson Cancer Charity.
Stuart, Company Director of local sponsor McCallum Bagpipes, said: “There will be a total of 17 runners from McCallum Bagpipes taking part on Sunday and I let them decide what charities we would be raising funds for. I’m personally looking forward to it to keep my own fitness up and it's a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for the two charities”.
Les, gym manager at Kilmarnock Fitness Centre, added: “I really enjoy running so Sunday is a great opportunity for me to do something that I love and raise funds and awareness for two charities at the same time. It is also a great highlight of fitness, which is something that I am very much involved in”.
David, who has been training hard for the event, mentioned: “I’m just looking forward to getting to the starting line, getting the run done and being able to take in the views of Scotland’s capital at the same time”.
The Club wish Les, David and Stuart every success on Sunday!
