An injury-time goal from Jack Lambert cruelly denied Killie a point as Dundee ran out 2-1 winners in this Development League clash.
Lambert danced past several Killie defenders on the edge of the box before seeing his deflected shot trickle past Curtis Lyle at the death to give the visitors all three points.
Arriving in Ayrshire looking to go top of the table, Lambert started the scoring after just two minutes when his looping header evaded Lyle and into the net.
Will Graham stung the palms of Kyle Gourlay in the Dundee goal following a fine run from Oliver McDonald as Killie pushed for an equaliser. The hosts were offered a way back into the match when Daniel Scally chased down Connor Quigley, forcing a mistake before being brought down in the box.
The forward stepped up to take the kick but Kyle Gourlay dived to his right to touch the ball wide for a corner.
Dundee were unable to find a second goal with an excellent goalline clearance keeping Killie in the game. And it looked like they would claim a point when Innes Cameron diverted a fine cross from the right into the net five minutes from time.
However it was not to be as Lambert had the final say late in the day.
