Kris Boyd's Testimonial Year kicked off in style at the weekend with his Sportsman's Dinner raising thousands of pounds for charities.
The event at Glasgow's Crowne Plaza Hotel was hosted by Jim White and featured players past and present as many gathered to mark Kris' achievements with Kilmarnock FC.
Many of his current Killie team-mates turned out in force to support our Club Captain while others featured on a video montage sharing their favourite anecdotes about Kris.
Former Killie team-mate Ian Durrant and ex-assistant manager Gerry McCabe were on hand to join Jim White and Kenny Miller for a Q+A, discussing what Kris is like on and off the field. All agreed that Kris was a larger than life character who is unquestionably one of the country's great goalscorers having hit 134 goals so far for Killie.
Top impressionist Darren Farley entertained guests at the end of the night with comical sketches involving some of football's most recognisable names. From Harry Redknapp to Wayne Rooney, the room was in stitches while Steven Gerrard and Brendan Rodgers were also covered.
Over £30,000 was raised through a raffle and auction offering some incredible prizes with the money raised to be donated to a number of charities. The full list of charities benefitting will be announced later in the Testimonial year.
Announcements over other events, including a testimonial match will be made by the Kris Boyd Testimonial Committee and communicated through our club channels in due course.
