Disabled Spectators and Disability Discrimination
Kilmarnock Football Club is committed to ensuring that all disabled supporters and customers have as full access as is reasonably possible to all goods, services and facilities provided or offered to the general public by the Club.
The Club operates and will continue to operate a concessionary ticketing policy for disabled supporters and will ensure that the scheme does not discriminate between disabled people with differing impairments. Most of the facilities are fully accessible to disabled persons and the Club confirms that it will make the necessary reasonable adjustments as described by the Disability discrimination Act and will adhere to the relevant Codes of Practice to ensure compliance with the legislation.
The Club realised that it had new tasks from 1 October, 2004, to remove such
barriers either physical or traditional that make it difficult or impossible for some disabled customers to use Club facilities. The Club undertook such works as reasonably required within the timescales set out in the Act. The Club will ensure that appropriate staff are aware of the provisions of the Act and that such awareness will be imparted to future employees as part of the staff training and induction process.
The Club maintains an excellent rapport and regular contact procedure with the Club Disabled Supporters Section who co-operate with the Club management and bring to their attention relevant matters on a regular basis. The Club Disabled Supporters Section has a good measure of autonomy and useful links with Disabled Supporters Sections of other Football Clubs.
The Club guarantees to its disabled supporters and customers that any complaints of a discriminatory manner will be dealt with quickly by the senior management of the Club namely the Club Secretary.
Club staff are advised that any incident of discrimination under the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act will be treated seriously and may be dealt with under Club Disciplinary Procedures.
