Kilmarnock u19 1 v Celtic u19 2 at Kilwinning 27/2/2010

After two postponed games due to the weather Kiliie got back in action with a league match against Celtic on Saturday. Callum McCluskey and Stuart Currie replaced Daniel McKay - on loan and Gary Fisher - injured from the team which played against Falkirk.

Killie started well and took the game to Celtic but Celtic settled down and began to have the most dangerous opportunities as they broke very quickly on the Killie defence. They took the lead when they broke down the left and delivered an excellent cross that found their striker getting between Killie's central defenders and he scored with a good header. Despite Killie having a couple of shots blocked Celtic were on top although Good was only called upon to make a couple of saves.

The second half continued with Celtic having most of the attempts on goal but in 65 minutes Ross Davidson chased a long ball and after dispossessing the goalkeeper finished well to equalise. Shortly afterwards however the ball rebounded to a Celtic player about 30 yards out and he rifled in a shot which flew into the net for what turned out to be the winner. Celtic hit the woodwork later on and despite a couple of Killie attempts no further goals were scored.

A disappointing result for Killie but a reasonably good performance although they need to show more in attacking areas.
